September 4-20, 2020 Tioga Arts Council Regional Show, Everyday Life, Every Day Art

Best in Fiber

For the second year in a row, Barbara Behrmann received the Best in Fiber Award in the 2020 juried regional art show, Everyday Life, Every Day Art.  Four of her pieces are part of the exhibit, which takes place – virtually this year – from September 4th through September 30th.  Sponsored by the Tioga Arts Council and Cloud Croft Studios, the exhibit features work from artists within a 100 mile radius of Owego, NY, an area that encompasses 25 counties in New York and Pennsylvania.

Pieced with fabrics that she hand-painted with fiber-reactive dyes. The title of her piece, Seven O’Clock, is based on the cacophony of sound that people made every night near the beginning of the COVID pandemic to show support for our front-line health care workers.

October 10-11 and 17-18, 2020 Greater Ithaca Art Trail

During normal times, local art enthusiasts associate two weekends in October with Open Studios on the Greater Ithaca Art Trail. This year, due to the pandemic, fewer artists are opening their doors, in person. Instead, the Community Arts Partnership is planning a number of virtual events to bring artists and the community together.  As part of this, Barbara Behrmann, one of 40 artists on the trail, will be presenting a talk about creating art when the process doesn’t quite go as planned.  All events will take place during the weekends of October 10th-11th and October 17th-18th. In addition, CAP’s annual membership exhibit in October will be virtual this year.  Look for specific dates and times to be announced soon. Go to for updates on all upcoming talks, presentations and exhibits.
